Divyang Ammol as an Athlete

Divyang Ammol D. Walkke as a Arm wrestler : The Unstoppable Spirit of a Differently-Abled Athlete

In the world of sports, determination often outruns talent—and few embody this better than Divyang Ammol Walkke, a name that’s fast becoming synonymous with grit, strength, and resilience in India’s para-athletic landscape.
Hailing from Nagpur, Maharashtra, Divyang Ammol isn’t just an entrepreneur and motivational speaker—he’s also a self-made athlete who has carved his own space in the world of bodybuilding and para-sports, despite being differently-abled. His journey is not just about lifting weights; it’s about lifting mindsets—challenging how society sees disability, and redefining what it means to be powerful.

Early Passion, Lifelong Discipline

Divyang Ammol’s connection with fitness began as early as his 12th grade. What started as a passion gradually became a part of his identity. But like many journeys of purpose, his turning point came unannounced. In October 2023, a simple flyer in a WhatsApp group changed everything. It was an announcement for a bodybuilding competition to be held on December 2nd, coinciding with World Disability Day.
“I saw the flyer and knew I had to go for it,” Divyang Ammol recalls. “I reached out to my coach immediately. That moment rekindled something inside me. I didn’t just want to be fit—I wanted to compete. I wanted to show the world what we, the differently-abled, are capable of.”

The Silent Struggles: Breaking Barriers, One Rep at a Time

For Divyang Ammol, fitness hasn’t only been a physical journey—it’s been deeply emotional. “People often look at us with sympathy,” he shares. “Or worse, they exclude us.”
He talks about everyday discrimination that many overlook: the silent, painful rejection from peers, the dismissive comments from gym trainers, and the constant reminder that you’re different.
Even at the gym, Divyang Ammol faced barriers. Trainers would often stop him from using machines, fearing he might get injured.
“There’s a fine line between concern and condescension,” he says. “But over time, I learned to push past the voices—both external and internal—and keep going.”

Turning Setbacks Into Strength

Despite these challenges, Divyang Ammol has built a remarkable career in sports and fitness. Today, he is celebrated not just for his entrepreneurial efforts, but for becoming a symbol of empowerment for India’s differently-abled community.
His achievements speak volumes:
Each medal is not just a trophy—it’s a declaration that no disability can limit human willpower.

From Nagpur to the Ramp: A Fitness Model & Showstopper

Divyang Ammol’s growing presence isn’t limited to competitions. He’s now stepping into the world of fitness modeling, proudly representing Nagpur on larger platforms.
He’s been selected as the showstopper for the prestigious Arion Walk Pageant in Mumbai, an event that brings together fitness, fashion, and empowerment. “For someone like me to walk that ramp, it’s not about style—it’s about statement. It tells every differently-abled person: you belong on every platform,” he says with conviction.

Athletics Meets Activism

For Divyang Ammol, fitness isn’t a solo journey—it’s a movement. Through his public profile, he’s inspiring countless others with disabilities to take their first steps into fitness and sports. His motivational talks, community workshops, and coaching support are giving aspiring para-athletes the confidence and tools they need to start.
He also actively campaigns for better infrastructure, support systems, and policy change to make gyms, sports complexes, and training spaces more inclusive.
“I’m not in this for the spotlight,” he explains. “I’m here to make sure the spotlight is big enough to include everyone.”

The Road Ahead

With more championships lined up and a growing audience that draws strength from his story, Divyang Ammol’s journey is only getting started. He dreams of representing India on the international stage, building a para-athlete community in Nagpur, and launching dedicated fitness centers for the differently-abled.
“I’ve faced rejections, injuries, and judgments,” he says. “But none of them have stopped me. Because every time I step onto a stage or into a gym, I’m not just lifting weights—I’m lifting the hopes of those who’ve been told ‘you can’t.’”

Inspiration in Motion

Divyang Ammol Walkke stands as a beacon of inspiration—not because he hasn’t fallen, but because he rises every time, stronger than before. His story is a celebration of resilience, not just for differently-abled individuals, but for anyone who has ever been told they’re not enough.
If there’s one thing to take from his journey, it’s this: “Limits don’t exist unless you accept them.
